Seraph's internal test data is impressive, and the dark-themed game is leading a new trend in Blockchain gaming.

Blockchain Gaming New Trend: Seraph Leads the Innovation of Dark Style Blockchain Games

In the volatile environment of the cryptocurrency market, the blockchain gaming sector has undergone multiple transformations, but true killer products remain rare. Although several strong traditional game studios have entered this field, attempting to address the long-standing complaints from players about game quality, there are still very few highly playable products available. Against this backdrop, Seraph, which has garnered significant attention this year, stands out.

Seraph is a dark-themed Web3 game that has undergone two rounds of internal testing this year. By collaborating with multiple player communities, the game has attracted 30,000 registered players, with a first-day retention rate of 72% and a 7-day retention rate of 45%. On average, each player spends 5 hours online each day, which is quite excellent data for blockchain games. Although both previous tests used a data wipe mechanism and test tokens, 55% of players still participated in on-chain transactions, and even some large players engaged in off-market trading with real money, fully demonstrating the players' recognition of Seraph's quality and playability. Currently, Seraph is preparing for its third internal test with partial asset retention and is hosting a pre-heating blind box white list event, providing participating players with the opportunity to obtain high-value game assets.

Recently, a certain media outlet exclusively interviewed Seraph's CMO Yezi, delving into the story behind Seraph, the design of its economic system, recent plans, and layout opportunities.

Originating from Loot, loyal to Diablo, surpassing Diablo

The Seraph team has rich experience in game development, Blockchain technology, and operation and promotion, and has received investment incubation from the South Korean online game giant Actoz Soft. The development team members come from well-known game companies, with experience in dark-style game development dating back to 2008. The team also includes members with experience in DeFi projects and up to 5 years of wallet operation experience, as well as a recently introduced excellent Web3 market operation team.

The creative inspiration for Seraph comes from the Loot project that exploded in popularity in 2021. The team, based on years of experience in dark development, believes that the dark style is highly compatible with blockchain games, and that it can integrate the rich, diverse, and deeply layered equipment system of dark themes with NFT technology. Combined with the unique economic circulation and trading characteristics of blockchain games, it aims to provide players with a unique experience.

Compared to traditional games, Seraph incorporates blockchain elements while ensuring depth and fun in gameplay. Game assets exist in the form of NFTs, allowing players to trade and dispose of them freely. The in-game currency is in the form of on-chain tokens, enabling players to experience financial gameplay such as "gold farming", "investment", and "community governance", enhancing the real interaction between players and the game.

Compared to traditional dark-themed games, Seraph incorporates more economic transactions and social experiences, deeply optimizing game items, and exploring the MMO direction based on the traditional dark ARPG gameplay. Through a seasonal system and content updates, Seraph aims to maintain a longer lifecycle. The game adds a wealth of content during the onboarding phase, multiplayer team formation, PVP rankings, and the game loop involving regular users, merchants, and big spenders, optimizing the user experience.

Dual Approach of Web2 and Web3, NFT-Driven Game Economy

The economic model of Seraph centers around equipment as the core NFT assets, and players' "刷刷刷" actions create a gold farming cycle. The game plans to expand into deeper gameplay such as PFP and land GVG based on the core cycle.

The core economic cycle of the game is divided into two main lines:

  1. Players participate in the Void Otherworld dungeon. Players wearing NFT equipment can "farm gold" during the game and obtain Soul Crystals. Soul Crystals are the universal currency in the game, which can be used for in-game transactions, equipment development, and participating in the Chaos Secret Realm dungeon.

  2. Players wear NFT equipment and consume Soul Crystals to participate in the Chaos Secret Realm dungeon, with a chance to obtain rare assets, including new NFT equipment.

The game also features a third dungeon gameplay, where the leaderboard PVP stimulates big spenders to acquire a large number of low-level NFT equipment in the market to cultivate rare equipment, in order to achieve higher rankings and lucrative rewards.

For free players in Web2, they can enjoy an almost indistinguishable gaming experience while having the opportunity to earn additional benefits through the in-game economic cycle. Paying players can purchase NFT gear through convenient wallets, transforming into Web3 players.

The non-deletion test is imminent, and various activities and gameplay of the blind box white list are ready to go.

The Seraph team values early supporters. SPP NFT holders are defined as early co-builders and incubators, and will receive various benefits and rewards from time to time. Players who participated in the first two rounds of internal testing will also receive rewards and gain extra points in the upcoming blind box sale whitelist for the third test.

Recently, the price and trading volume of SPP NFTs have surged, possibly due to the team's increased communication and interaction with users, providing in-depth explanations and promotions to various gaming communities from different regions and backgrounds, thereby boosting player confidence.

Seraph has basically completed the development of the main content, including three major professions and several core dungeon gameplay. New features such as skins, footprints, and automatic pick-up pets will be launched in the third test. Additionally, new professions, mercenaries, PVP gameplay, guilds, and other social elements, as well as seasonal themes and achievements, will also be introduced. In terms of Web3 elements, PFP and other new content will be gradually released.

The Seraph team believes that good blockchain games can transcend bull and bear markets, even attracting funds from outside the circle, bringing about a spring in the market. They will continue to persist in creating products during the bear market, hoping to create the most enjoyable and enduring games in the circle together with players, and establish the strongest and most cohesive community. As the project party, they are honored to develop this blockchain game product and look forward to becoming friends with players, walking towards the future together.
